  • Keady has had a religious congregation since at least 1883. They met in a building that was across the road from the current church.
  • In 1900 the congregation decided it needed a new building and plans were put in place to build the Chalmers Church. Official opening was February 23 1901. The corner stone would read Presbyterian Church Erected 1901 as the congregation at that time was Presbyterian.
  • In 1925 Chalmers Church in Keady changed from Presbyterian denomination to the United Church of Canada.
  • In 2003 the Desboro United Church amalgamated with Keady. The Desboro Congregation held their last service in their church in 2006 and their building was sold in 2009.
  • In 2017 North Derby United Church joined Keady. The Chalmers United Church then became known as the Keady – North Derby United Church.
